Why You Should Be On Social Media

The world of real estate is an extremely competitive market. In the state of Florida, just about anyone with a high school diploma and 63 hours for an online class can become a licensed real estate agent. This low barrier to entry means that there will be hundreds if not thousands of agents competing with you in your market for deals, and to rise to the top you have to look the part.

Social media is your chance to shine online and appear just as professional about your real estate business online as I know you are in person (if not even more so!). By developing a carefully curated profile you have a chance to build a glowing reputation as an agent, even

with people you may not have gotten a chance to do business with yet.

In addition to developing a professional image, your social media is your chance to share that image with hundreds or thousands more people than you ever could in real life. You can only physically knock on so many doors to help generate business, but in a fraction of that time you can spread your messaging to exponentially more people. This is your chance to increase your reach dramatically and do so with one post rather than a dozen individual conversations.

One of my favorite quotes is from the famous physicist Sir Isaac Newton: “If I have

seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants”. I find this quote to be particularly relevant to building your business on social media.

Why? Because thanks to sharing features you don't actually have to create all of your content

all by yourself! If you see your favorite mortgage lender posting about their new rates this week, this is great content for you to share and comment on. Now don't get carried away and have your entire feed be nothing but reposts, but if you add your own commentary and insight related to the post while giving the original creator credit this is a fantastic way to generate content. Nothing makes you sound more credible and educated than citing your sources.

If you find that you now want to start building your brand on social media but either don't quite have a knack for it or don't have the time to curate a strong presence, reach out to us here at Pixels and Paper to learn about how we can help you do so!
